OIC Supports Historic UN Resolution Calling For End To Israeli Occupation And Settlements
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed approval for a significant resolution passed by the UN General Assembly. This resolution supports the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the illegality of Israel's occupation. It demands that Israel withdraw and dismantle its unlawful colonial settlements in Palestinian territories within 12 months.
The OIC views this resolution as a testament to global agreement on the fairness of the Palestinian cause. It underscores steadfast backing for Palestinians' legitimate rights, including self-determination and forming an independent state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The organization has called upon all countries to meet their obligations by taking both individual and collective actions. These actions aim to ensure Israel adheres to international law and relevant resolutions, including the ICJ's advisory opinion. The OIC also demands justice and international protection for Palestinians.
Ending Israeli occupation and colonial settlements is a priority for the OIC. The organization emphasizes that the Palestinian issue remains central in its agenda and political efforts, especially during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
The OIC supports initiatives to convene an international conference aimed at implementing pertinent UN resolutions on Palestine. This includes advancing the two-state solution as part of wider global efforts to secure a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the region.
The organization continues to advocate for these measures, reflecting its commitment to resolving the Palestinian issue through diplomatic channels and international cooperation.
