OIC Report Highlights Israeli Crimes Against Palestinians And Humanitarian Crisis
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Media Observatory for Israel's Crimes against Palestinians has reported a significant toll of civilian casualties during the period from May 7 to May 13, 2024. This timeframe coincided with the onset of the Israeli invasion of Rafah. The OIC Observatory documented 358 fatalities and 754 injuries, primarily resulting from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, particularly in Rafah, where 42 massacres were recorded.
According to the report, these massacres have severely worsened the humanitarian situation in Gaza. The OIC refutes Israeli claims regarding safe havens for displaced Palestinians. Since the beginning of the conflict, a total of 35,589 Palestinians have been killed. On May 8, UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric stated that no humanitarian aid had entered Gaza through the main crossings. The UN World Health Organization (WHO) warned that fuel stocks needed for healthcare in Gaza would last only three more days and noted that Israeli forces had evacuated Muhammad Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital.

Israeli actions have extended beyond Gaza to the occupied city of Jerusalem. According to the OIC report, settlers blocked the main entrance to Al-Issawiya village to prevent aid from reaching Gaza and set fire to trees around the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) headquarters in Sheikh Jarrah. Additionally, Israeli forces arrested 182 Palestinians in West Bank cities and Jerusalem.
CNN reported on Israeli crimes against detainees, revealing that prisoners were tied naked to beds and prevented from moving, which amounts to torture. The OIC Observatory documented 2,000 Israeli violations within a week, including killings, injuries, arrests, assaults, property confiscation, land leveling, and settlement activities across Palestinian cities.
The Observatory also recorded daily raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the demolition of 13 houses in Hebron, Qalqilya, and Jericho. In addition, eight agricultural and commercial structures were demolished in Jerusalem, Jericho, and Hebron. Furthermore, Israeli settlers increased their attacks on West Bank villages with 30 crimes reported: settlers physically assaulted Palestinian citizens, vandalized property, and engaged in activities that could lead to new settlement outposts on Palestinian land.
Seizure of Property
The occupation forces closed the old building of Hebron City Municipality in Ain Al-Askar area in preparation for handing it over to Israeli settlers. This action is part of a broader pattern of property seizures and settlement expansion activities documented by the OIC Observatory.
