OIC Media Observatory Reports On Israeli Military Actions In Gaza

In a recent report by the Observatory of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), concerning developments as of April 30, it was revealed that Israeli occupation forces initiated a military ground operation in Rafah, Gaza Strip. This move has sparked international concern, with numerous warnings about the potential for extensive loss of life and a severe famine. The report sheds light on the escalating violence and its repercussions on the Palestinian population.

According to the OIC Media Observatory's findings, from April 30 onwards, there have been 26 massacres attributed to the occupation forces, resulting in 253 Palestinian deaths and 476 injuries. This brings the total number of Palestinian casualties since the beginning of the conflict to 35,233. Additionally, Israeli settlers launched assaults on two Jordanian aid convoys delivering humanitarian assistance to Gaza, targeting a total of 79 trucks at the Beit Hanoun and Kerem Shalom crossing points.

OIC Highlights Gaza Conflict Impact

A joint analysis by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) has highlighted the extensive damage inflicted on Gaza's health and education infrastructure due to Israeli aggression. Over seven months, approximately 79,000 homes were obliterated, with an additional 370 suffering partial damage. The estimated cost for reconstruction is pegged at $40 billion, with efforts expected to extend until at least 2040. The report also underscores a grim outlook for Gaza's residents, with an anticipated 1.74 million people (58% of Gaza's population) falling into poverty, effectively erasing four decades of developmental progress in health and education since 1980.

The past week alone saw four incidents of incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards. Moreover, around 127 Palestinians were detained across various West Bank cities and towns. Israeli forces demolished nine structures, encompassing both residential units and commercial outlets in Al-Quds, Ramallah, Tulkarm, and Hebron. The confiscation of agricultural machinery and destruction of farmlands in Hebron, Ramallah, and Nablus further exacerbate the challenges faced by Palestinians in these areas.

This series of events underscores the ongoing strife and humanitarian crises in the Gaza Strip and surrounding regions. The international community continues to monitor these developments closely, hoping for a resolution that can bring peace and stability back to the area.
