OIC Media Observatory Documents Rise In Israeli Crimes Against Palestinians

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Media Observatory documented 23 Israeli massacres of Palestinians between July 9 and 15, 2024. Significant incidents took place in a refugee camp in Al-Mawasi, Abu Oreiban School in Nuseirat, a mosque in the Al-Shatee refugee camp, and the Al-Shujaiya neighborhood.

During this period, the death toll reached 474, with 1,287 injured. This brings the total number of casualties since the beginning of the aggression to 39,158. The number of martyrs and injured was the highest recorded in July, indicating a pattern of deliberate mass killings.

Surge in Israeli Crimes Reported

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces destroyed over 85% of residential buildings in the Al-Shujaiya neighborhood. This has turned it into an area unfit for habitation. Alongside direct genocide, United Nations human-rights experts warned of widespread famine in Gaza, with child deaths due to chronic malnutrition increasing.

In occupied Jerusalem, extremists and Israeli occupation forces frequently stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Crimes against Palestinians have also increased in various villages and cities in the occupied West Bank.

Settlers burned agricultural lands and trees belonging to Palestinians in Hebron, Ramallah, Jenin, Nablus, and Tubas. Israeli forces and settlers uprooted agricultural lands and fruit trees in Jericho, Salfit, Nablus, Ramallah, and Tulkarm. They also burned seven farms and destroyed rooms and barns in Hebron and Ramallah.

Additionally, they uprooted 120 fruit trees in Hebron and bulldozed dozens of dunams of land with fruit trees. Chemical fertilizers were confiscated from commercial stores in Ramallah, Tulkarm, Qalqilya, Salfit, Jericho, and Hebron.

Water Supply Sabotage

In the hot summer months when water is crucially needed, settlers damaged water valves supplying villages west of Nablus. They also damaged a water line supplying Umm Al-Khair village in Hebron. Israeli forces confiscated a well drilling rig and destroyed a borehole in Tubas.

Commercial Damage

Israeli forces caused direct commercial damage by destroying a building-materials store and a car repair shop in Bethlehem. They demolished a horse stable in Jericho and confiscated a lathe in Hebron. Additionally, they burned one bulldozer and confiscated another in Nablus.

Settlement Activities

The number of settler attacks between July 9 and 15 reached 44 across various cities in the occupied West Bank. Settlement activities included confiscating 65 dunams to build an outpost in Nablus and 1.7 dunams for water supply to "Novim" settlement. Agricultural land was bulldozed to lay sewage pipes to "Ammanuel" settlement.

Five caravans, a settlement room, and a tent were erected on land belonging to Irtas village as well as villages in Hebron and Jaba'at for establishing settlement outposts.

Religious Site Restrictions

Israeli forces closed the only open roof at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron to restrict worshipers' access. They demolished 23 houses across Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Tulkarm, Nablus Qalqilya Jericho Hebron forcibly seized two houses Old City Hebron.

The OIC Media Observatory recorded 2,542 violations by Israeli forces within one week ranging from road closures to genocide.
