OIC Media Observatory Reports Gaza Winter Rains And Heightened Israeli Violations

The OIC Media Observatory on Israeli Crimes against Palestinians reported 873 separate violations between 6 and 12 January 2026. During this week, 32 Palestinians were killed, including a detainee, and 70 others were injured across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, according to the Observatory’s figures.

Most casualties were recorded in the Gaza Strip, where 21 Palestinians were killed and 9 bodies were recovered. Israeli forces also wounded 47 people there during the same period and, despite a ceasefire agreement, continued artillery and air strikes against several areas, which further damaged civilian infrastructure and residential districts.

OIC Reports Gaza Winter Rains and Violations

Satellite images cited by the OIC Media Observatory show that more than 2,500 homes in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed since the ceasefire deal took effect. Israeli forces also arrested five fishermen off the coast of Gaza City, adding to the pressure on local livelihoods already weakened by long-standing restrictions and the current conflict conditions.

The United Nations stated that more than one million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip now need shelter as winter storms intensify. The World Health Organization said that 18,000 patients in Gaza require medical evacuation. International organisations, including UNRWA and the German Red Cross, called for lifting restrictions on aid, citing severe shortages of food and medical supplies.

In the West Bank, the OIC Media Observatory recorded the killing of one Palestinian and injuries to 23 others. Israeli forces carried out 293 raids on towns and villages over seven days. These operations led to the arrest of 160 Palestinians, including 13 children, and additional injuries during confrontations reported by the Observatory.

Israeli forces in the West Bank also demolished four residential homes, an iron factory, a farm, and several livestock pens. Military units confiscated a truck, a bulldozer, an excavator, and another vehicle. In Nablus, soldiers took over two houses and turned them into military outposts, while bulldozers levelled agricultural land in several locations across the territory.

Settlement expansion and land seizures in Israeli crimes against Palestinians

Settlement-related activity reached ten incidents during the reporting period. Authorities issued an order to seize 694 dunams of land from Kafr Thulth in Qalqilya, Deir Istiya, and Bidya in Salfit. Another 140 dunams belonging to the village of Fandaqumiya were also taken for settlement projects overseen by Israeli institutions.

In a separate move, 46,973 dunams were confiscated from the town of Silat ad-Dhahr, Fandaqumiya, and Burqa to construct a road connecting the sites of the former settlements "Homesh" and "Sanur." Israeli authorities also published a tender for 3,401 settlement units east of Jerusalem, while the Ateret Cohanim association took control of a two-apartment building in Batn al-Hawa in Silwan.

Settlers built a road leading to an outpost near the town of Atara and placed mobile homes on land between Fandaqumiya and Burqa. They erected a tent on land in Mikhmas and bulldozed areas southeast of Al-Dhahiriya to prepare another settlement road. These actions, combined with the broader pattern of killings, raids, and demolitions, formed the 873 Israeli crimes documented by the OIC Media Observatory for 6–12 January 2026.
