OIC Media Observatory Documents Surge In Israeli Aggression Against Palestinians In Early April 2025

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Media Observatory reported a significant number of Israeli crimes against Palestinians from April 1 to 7, 2025. During this period, 2,725 incidents were documented, including the bombing of the "Dar Al-Arqam" school in Al-Tuffah, which resulted in the deaths of 31 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

In Gaza, the humanitarian situation worsened as Israeli forces bombed a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) clinic. This attack led to the deaths of 55 Palestinians, primarily women and children. Additionally, settlers set fire to UNRWA-owned land in Al-Quds amid these tensions.

Surge in Israeli Aggression Against Palestinians Reported

The World Food Programme (WFP) faced challenges due to aid crossing closures, forcing bakery shutdowns in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel intensified efforts around Rafah by demolishing homes and expanding buffer zones. These actions mirrored similar strategies in northern Gaza as part of displacement plans.

In the West Bank, Israeli forces conducted 184 raids and arrested 179 Palestinians. They also demolished over eight homes and caused infrastructure damage. The observatory noted ongoing abuse of Palestinian children; two were killed, three injured by Israeli forces, and nine were arrested.

Settlement activities continued with land confiscations for buffer zones and expansion. Settlers established new outposts and attacked Palestinian towns and villages in 39 incidents. These attacks included damaging olive trees, stealing livestock, cutting power supplies, and burning houses and vehicles.

The observatory recorded a total of 400 Palestinian deaths and 1,112 injuries during the first week of April alone. Since the beginning of hostilities earlier this year, over 51,700 Palestinians have died, with more than 122,175 injured.

Targeting Religious Sites

Mosques were not spared from violence; extremists stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque during this period. The observatory highlighted these incidents as part of broader settlement activities that threaten religious sites.

A video surfaced showing the field execution of 14 individuals by Israeli forces. Among those executed was a UN employee. Journalists were also targeted during these operations.

The control over the Morag Corridor was announced as part of Israel's broader strategy in the region. This move is seen as an effort to consolidate control amidst ongoing conflicts.

The OIC’s Media Observatory continues to document these events amidst escalating tensions between Israelis and Palestinians. The situation remains dire with no immediate resolution in sight.
