OIC Media Observatory Reports 1,079 Palestinian Martyrs In One Week Due To Israeli Actions
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Media Observatory reported a devastating week in the Gaza Strip, with 289 people killed due to Israeli airstrikes targeting civilians. Additionally, 38 bodies were recovered, and 697 previously documented Palestinian deaths were confirmed. In the West Bank, five Palestinians were also killed by Israeli forces. Between April 22 and 28, 2025, a total of 1,079 Palestinians lost their lives, and 900 were injured.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached alarming levels. The World Food Programme announced that its food supplies in Gaza have been exhausted. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) criticised Israel for blocking aid access to Gaza for 50 days. This blockade is considered the longest period of starvation in Gaza's history by the international community.

This past week marked one of the bloodiest since Israeli forces violated a ceasefire agreement. Notable incidents included bombings at a school sheltering displaced individuals in Tuffah neighbourhood and Saftawi Cafe in Bureij refugee camp. Crowds on Al-Jalaa Street were also targeted, and Mohammed al-Durrah Hospital was rendered non-operational.
In the West Bank, occupation forces conducted raids on cities and villages 300 times between April 22 and 28, arresting 165 Palestinians, including four children. A child was killed, and 39 others were injured during these operations. The forces demolished homes and other structures across various locations.
Settlers engaged in seven land seizure activities within a week to claim Palestinian territories. They bulldozed land in Qusra town in Nablus and Azzun town in Qalqilya. Trees were planted on seized Palestinian land near al-Rihiya village in Hebron. Tents were set up near Bruqin town's western entrance in Salfit and on Masafer lands in Yatta town.
Occupation forces issued an order to confiscate agricultural land from Silwad town in Ramallah for settlement road construction. Settler attacks numbered 56 over the week, including burning cars, agricultural facilities, a farm, and a construction site. In Sinjil town in Ramallah, settlers stole 45 sheep.
Religious Sites Under Threat
Religious sites faced attacks as well; occupation forces raided a mosque in Bir Ayyoub area of Silwan neighbourhood in Al-Quds. Settlers repeatedly targeted religious sites over several days in Kifl Haris town. These actions contribute to the total number of Israeli crimes against Palestinians reaching 3,267 within one week.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, highlighted the depletion of medical supplies amid this crisis. The ongoing violence has resulted in significant casualties: from , to , there have been 53,242 deaths and 124,469 injuries.
The OIC's Media Observatory documented various categories of crimes across all Palestinian territories over a year and a half totalling 250,722 incidents.
