OIC Media Observatory Reports Alarming Increase In Israeli Crimes Against Palestinian People

Over the past week, violence in the northern Gaza Strip has intensified significantly. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reported a sharp increase in Israeli military actions, including starvation tactics, mass killings, and forced displacement. From November 5 to 11, 2024, the OIC documented 242 deaths and 662 injuries in Gaza. Most incidents were concentrated in northern and central regions.

The OIC Media Observatory highlighted that Israeli airstrikes targeted shelters in northern Gaza. A bombing in the Al-Daraj neighbourhood killed members of the Hamada family, including women and children. Additionally, an airstrike on Shuhaibar School, a UNRWA-affiliated shelter for displaced people, resulted in 12 Palestinian deaths.

Israeli forces have instructed residents from areas such as North Beach and Al-Nasr to relocate southward. The United Nations confirmed that Israel obstructed or rejected 85% of efforts to coordinate aid convoys and humanitarian visits to northern Gaza despite the dire conditions there.

In the West Bank and occupied al-Quds, the OIC recorded 12 deaths and 29 injuries over the same period. Israeli forces arrested 189 individuals. The total number of Palestinians killed since the conflict began has reached 44,383, with injuries totalling 109,179.

The occupation forces demolished or occupied 22 homes within a week. This included demolishing 16 houses across the West Bank and al-Quds, burning one in Jenin camp, occupying a house in Ramallah, demolishing a shop, and burning another in Tulkarm camp. Settlers destroyed four caravans in Sa’ir town in Hebron.

Additionally, infrastructure destruction occurred as streets were bulldozed in Al-Far’a camp and other towns like Tamoun and Qabatiya. Agricultural lands between Qarawa and Bani Hassan were also bulldozed.

Settler Violence and Religious Sites

The OIC documented 53 settler attacks on villages in the West Bank and al-Quds during this period. Attacks on olive harvests continued with 27 villages facing aggressions like crop thefts and land destruction. The occupation forces participated in these operations.

Israeli extremists repeatedly stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque throughout the week. Settlers attacked worshippers at dawn prayers in Burqa village's mosque near Nablus while vandalising vehicles outside it.

Settlement Activities

The OIC recorded five settlement activities during this period. Notably, settlers seized land for olive tree planting in northern Jordan Valley while building mobile homes overlooking Khalayel al-Loz village near Bethlehem intending to establish outposts.

Between November 5-11 alone, there were approximately 1,855 documented Israeli crimes according to OIC records which included storming educational institutions within Tubas Governorate alongside numerous other incidents targeting civilians' daily lives across affected regions.

The situation remains tense with ongoing violence impacting both human lives directly through casualties but also indirectly by disrupting essential services like education amid continued hostilities
