OIC Ambassadors At UN Strategize On Gaza Ceasefire And Palestine Statehood

On Wednesday, in New York City, a significant meeting convened by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) permanent representatives to the United Nations took place, under the leadership of Mauritania's representative, Sidi Mohamed Laghdaf. This gathering followed closely on the heels of the UN Security Council's adoption of Resolution 2728 on March 25, a move that the OIC group has lauded as a historic and transformative step towards establishing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The meeting also commended the efforts of a ministerial committee established by the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, led by the Kingdom, focusing on securing Palestine's full UN membership as a step towards realizing a two-state solution.
