NWC Launches 23 Significant Water And Environmental Projects In Madinah Valued At Over SAR814 Million
The National Water Company has initiated 23 new water and environmental projects in the Madinah Region, with a total investment surpassing SAR814 million. These projects aim to broaden service reach, boost operational efficiency, and improve customer service. The company is focusing on enhancing water services and infrastructure across various locations.
Fifteen of these projects are dedicated to water services. In Madinah, 11 projects are underway, involving the construction of over 726 kilometers of pipelines and networks. This effort requires an investment exceeding SAR454.6 million. Additionally, four more water projects are being developed in Al-Hanakiyah, Al-Ais, and Badr governorates, covering about 223 kilometers of pipelines with a total cost surpassing SAR117.7 million.

In the environmental sector, eight sewage service projects are currently in progress. Four of these will serve various neighborhoods in Madinah, involving nearly 98 kilometers of sewer lines and networks at a cost exceeding SAR157.8 million. The remaining four projects are being implemented in AlUla, Badr, and Yanbu governorates. These include installing over 54 kilometers of sewage infrastructure with an investment surpassing SAR84.6 million.
This latest initiative complements a previous announcement made by the company in May 2024 regarding nine projects in Madinah valued at approximately SAR500 million. These efforts align with the company's strategy to fortify the water distribution network and reduce environmental risks while expanding service coverage.

The company emphasized that these initiatives support its broader strategy to enhance operational performance according to high standards of quality and efficiency. This aligns with the objectives outlined in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 plan.
