NWC Enhances Wastewater Treatment Plant Capacity In Riyadh To Support Environmental Services

The National Water Company (NWC), through its Central Cluster, has finalised the third phase of a wastewater treatment plant located south of Riyadh. This initiative is part of NWC's ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure within the environmental services sector. The project aims to expand service coverage and boost operational efficiency, with an investment exceeding SAR387 million.

The company stated, "The third phase of the plant works on the technology of tertiary wastewater treatment, with a design capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day, which will increase its total capacity in its three phases to 400,000 cubic meters per day." This development is crucial for eliminating environmental damage and supporting ecological balance while improving service quality for Riyadh residents.

NWC Expands Riyadh Wastewater Treatment Capacity

This project is among several strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the wastewater treatment system. It seeks to improve treatment efficiency and accommodate increased wastewater flows due to urban growth and population rise in Riyadh. The expansion aligns with NWC's broader strategy to address these challenges effectively.

NWC is actively pursuing multiple strategic projects to upgrade infrastructure and elevate environmental services across the capital. These efforts are part of a larger commitment to implementing strategic plans that enhance operational efficiency in both water and environmental services sectors nationwide.

The company's initiatives are aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. NWC emphasises adherence to high standards of quality and performance in all its operations. By doing so, it aims to contribute significantly towards national goals while ensuring sustainable development in Riyadh's water management systems.

In summary, NWC's completion of the third phase of the wastewater treatment plant marks a significant step forward in improving Riyadh's environmental infrastructure. The project not only enhances service delivery but also supports sustainable urban development as envisioned in Saudi Vision 2030.
