NWC Completes SAR 400 Million Desalinated Water Project To Enhance Water Supply In Riyadh Region
The National Water Company (NWC), through its Central Cluster, has finalised a project to deliver desalinated water to three governorates in the Riyadh region. These include Dhruma, Al Muzahimiyah, and Al-Quwaiyah, along with the Al Qiddiya project west of Riyadh. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's strategic plans to enhance infrastructure in water and environmental services.
The project involved laying transmission lines of various diameters over a total length of 172 km. Additionally, six operational reservoirs were constructed. These have a combined capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day. The aim is to improve water service quality for more than 270,000 beneficiaries. The total cost for this extensive project reached approximately SAR400 million.

NWC highlighted that the project's goal is to bolster infrastructure and increase operational efficiency. This will improve service quality for customers and meet the rising demand for water. Achieving water security is also a priority, aligning with Saudi Arabia's urban development goals.
