Water Supply Expansion: NWC Completes SAR 63 Million Project For Al-Zulfi And Thadig
The National Water Company has completed a major water supply project serving Al-Zulfi and Thadig governorates in Riyadh Region. More than 51,000 residents will benefit from new networks and lines. The project aims to strengthen water security and support sustainable services across these growing areas.
NWC reported that the total cost exceeded SAR63 million. The scheme is part of wider strategic plans to upgrade water and environmental services infrastructure across the Kingdom. The company stated that work followed approved schedules and quality standards to meet long-term national service goals.

According to NWC, the works in Al-Zulfi covered several districts. These included Qurtuba, Al-Rabwa, Al-Wisam, Hittin, Al-Rayyan, Badr, as well as development plans 962 and 954. The new lines also linked local networks to the high reservoir to enhance system reliability and distribution.
The project scope in Thadig Governorate focused on two specific urban plans. NWC constructed water networks in plan 340 within Yarmouk district and plan 196 in Al-Aqiq district. Together with the Al-Zulfi components, this brought the total length of implemented lines and networks to more than 181 kilometres.
NWC explained that this project supports efforts to raise operational efficiency and improve network performance. The company highlighted goals to enhance the water distribution system, reinforce water security, and expand sustainable services to all cities and governorates, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for quality of life.
The company added that residents in the newly supplied districts can apply for individual service connections. Requests are handled through NWC’s official digital platforms and customer service channels. The project forms part of ongoing programmes to upgrade infrastructure and deliver more reliable water access across the Kingdom.
