NWC's CEO Dr. Fouad Al Sheikh Mubarak Launches Development Phase Of Madinah Smart Operations System
Dr. Fouad bin Ahmed Al Sheikh Mubarak, CEO of the National Water Company (NWC), recently initiated the development phase of the Operations Control Center (OCC) in the Northwest Cluster. This upgrade aims to enhance digital control over water and environmental networks, improving service quality, particularly in Madinah's central area and religious sites.
The OCC system upgrade aligns with the Hajj season, enhancing service quality for pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque. It ensures continuous service at high efficiency and quality levels, boosting overall performance and operations. The company is committed to advancing services by integrating technological progress to improve quality and operational efficiency.

During a field visit to NWC's Madinah branch, Dr. Mubarak launched this development phase. It includes real-time monitoring of water supply through three smart systems that measure water flow and quality. Additionally, six devices have been installed to monitor water levels in tanks at key locations like Al-Miqat Mosque and Quba Mosque.
The smart Operations Control Center (OCC) is operated by skilled Saudi technical and engineering teams. They manage key water system components using remote monitoring technologies. These include flow control, water level measurements, and quality assessments in networks and reservoirs.
NWC emphasised its dedication to continuous improvements in the OCC system as part of its automation efforts. The company aims to localise innovative technologies supporting smart operations in water networks. This ensures real-time provision of high-quality water and environmental services.
The latest system upgrade not only enhances service delivery but also ensures prompt responses by monitoring field team activities in real time. This approach guarantees high-quality service delivery across all areas managed by NWC.
The company reiterated its commitment to adopting best global practices in water and environmental services. By keeping pace with technological advancements, NWC aims to improve service quality while boosting operational efficiency.
This initiative underscores NWC's focus on leveraging technology for better management of resources, ensuring efficient service delivery across critical areas during peak times such as the Hajj season.
