NWC Enhances Aseer Tourist Season With SAR 60 Million Water Infrastructure Projects
The National Water Company (NWC) has finalised two significant water infrastructure projects in Abha and Khamis Mushait, located in the Aseer Region. These projects, valued at over SAR60 million, aim to benefit more than 20,000 residents and support the area's tourist season by addressing the increasing demand for water.
In Abha, a project costing over SAR35 million was completed. This initiative involved constructing water networks across eight districts: Al-Hayam, Al-Khalidiya, Al-Atharban, Al-Zamil, Qasr Al-Alaya, Al-Areen, and Qura Al Yusuf. It is expected to serve more than 10,000 people.

The Abha project included laying 55,700 meters of water networks and a transmission pipeline stretching 15,170 meters. Additionally, a pumping station with a daily capacity of 1,200 cubic meters was established to enhance water distribution in the area.
Meanwhile, in Khamis Mushait, another project worth over SAR24 million was executed. This involved installing 60,000 meters of water pipes of varying sizes to supply drinking water to six districts: Al-Dharfa, Al-Iskan, Tara, Al-Diyafa, Al-Yamama, and Atoud.
NWC emphasised its dedication to maintaining high-quality standards across all its projects. The company aims to improve operational efficiency and ensure sustainable water services throughout Saudi Arabia's cities and governorates.
The completion of these projects marks an important step towards achieving water security in the region. NWC continues its efforts to enhance water distribution and delivery systems for the benefit of all residents.
Customer Engagement
NWC encouraged residents in Abha and Khamis Mushait to request water services through its official channels. Customers can use the NWC mobile app or visit the e-branch at nwc.com.sa for service requests.
These initiatives are part of NWC's broader strategy to implement drinking water networks effectively in East Abha. By doing so, they contribute significantly to meeting the growing needs of the population while supporting local tourism.
