NWC Invests SAR 400 Million In 18 Projects To Enhance Water Services For Pilgrims In Makkah
The National Water Company (NWC), through its Western Cluster, has finalised 18 projects in Makkah and the holy sites, with a total investment of SAR400 million. These initiatives aim to enhance water and environmental services infrastructure, benefiting residents, visitors, and pilgrims during the Hajj season 1446 AH and beyond.
According to NWC's statement, these projects will improve operational efficiency by upgrading water storage facilities, pumps, and network control systems. They also focus on enhancing fire and cooling networks, enabling real-time water quality monitoring, and increasing wastewater and distribution pipeline capacity. The overall goal is to boost network efficiency in Makkah and the holy sites.

The capital projects involve developing and rehabilitating numerous water storage facilities in Makkah and the holy sites. This includes constructing a 190,000 m3 steel tank. Additionally, main pipelines, valve rooms, and networks are being installed to support water supply and control across various locations at the holy sites.
These infrastructure improvements aim to increase operational efficiency, ensure sustainable distribution, and enhance network reliability during peak hours. The focus is on providing consistent water supply even when demand is high.
NWC has reinforced its operations at the holy sites with several projects. These include installing devices to measure water pressure, meters for water usage, sensors for water and wastewater networks, replacing operational tank pumps, and isolating valves for water and fire networks. The objective is to monitor levels effectively and improve asset efficiency in key networks.
The company aims to deliver top-quality services during the Hajj season by controlling these systems efficiently. This ensures that pilgrims receive reliable services throughout their stay.
