The National Water Company (NWC) has embarked on 38 water and sanitation projects in the Aseer Region, part of the Southern Cluster. These initiatives involve constructing lines and networks spanning over 2,534 kilometers, with a total investment nearing SAR2 billion. This effort aligns with NWC's strategic plans to enhance infrastructure in water and environmental services sectors, aiming to broaden service coverage for its customers.
NWC has initiated 27 water projects across various districts and villages in the Aseer Region. Areas such as Abha, Khamis Mushait, An Namas, Ahad Rafidah, Mahayel Aseer, Al-Barak, Rijal Almaa, Tanuma, Tathleeth, Bareq, Dhahran Al-Janoub, and Al-Wadiyan are included. The company will lay transmission lines and networks totaling about 2,177 kilometers. Additionally, it plans to construct 16 water reservoirs with a combined capacity of 54,500 cubic meters.

Pumping stations with a design capacity exceeding 15,000 cubic meters per day will also be installed. These efforts are crucial for improving water distribution systems and ensuring sustainable drinking water supplies. Meanwhile, 11 sanitation projects have been launched in the region. These projects cover districts like Abha city and Khamis Mushait along with Bisha and Balgarn areas.
The sanitation projects include pipelines and networks extending beyond 357 kilometers. In Al-Qahma Center and Al-Haridah Center, a treatment plant with a design capacity of 9,300 cubic meters per day will be established. Lift stations capable of handling over 106,000 cubic meters daily are also part of these developments.
NWC emphasized that these projects aim to bolster the water distribution system while addressing environmental concerns. The goal is to achieve water security and environmental balance by increasing service coverage. The company is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and performance as it implements its strategic plans.
These efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives by enhancing operational efficiency in the water and sanitation sectors. NWC remains dedicated to advancing its infrastructure development initiatives to meet these goals effectively.
