Noura Al Kaabi Meets Lebanon's Emergency Coordinator In Paris To Discuss Solidarity And Support

Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, met Nasser Yassin, Lebanon's caretaker Minister of Environment, in Paris. This meeting occurred during the International Conference in Support of Lebanon's People and Sovereignty. The event was organised by France's President and took place on Thursday in Paris. Seventy countries, along with the UN, EU, and other organisations, participated.

Al Kaabi reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting Lebanon amid its current challenges. The UAE plans to continue providing urgent humanitarian relief under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This support is part of the UAE's consistent approach to addressing serious humanitarian issues and meeting the needs of Lebanese citizens.

UAE Supports Lebanon at Paris Conference

The UAE has been actively involved in aiding Lebanon since the crisis began. Al Kaabi highlighted that USD 100 million in urgent relief packages have been provided. Additionally, $30 million was allocated for Lebanese refugees in Syria. Other forms of aid include medical, food, and shelter supplies as part of the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign.

A ship recently arrived at Beirut Port carrying 2,000 tonnes of relief and medical supplies. This shipment is intended to address the immediate needs of the Lebanese people. The UAE’s leadership and citizens are highly appreciated by Lebanon for their continuous support during these difficult times.

Al Kaabi expressed concern over ongoing developments in Lebanon and their impact on regional stability. She emphasised the need for international efforts to achieve a ceasefire and ensure civilian protection under international law. The escalating conflict poses significant threats to civilians' safety and lives.

Furthermore, Al Kaabi condemned Israel's violations of UN Security Council Resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701. These violations manifest as ongoing aggression on Lebanese territory, worsening humanitarian, political, and security crises in the Middle East.

Praise for UAE’s Role

Nasser Yassin praised the UAE for its relief efforts towards Lebanon. He acknowledged the country's leading role in providing comprehensive support during these critical circumstances. Yassin expressed gratitude for the continuous aid from the UAE since the crisis began.

The UAE's initiatives reflect its unwavering solidarity with Lebanon during this challenging period. The country remains committed to addressing humanitarian needs through various initiatives aimed at alleviating suffering and promoting stability in the region.
