Noura Al Kaabi Joins Indian Community To Celebrate Cultural Heritage In UAE
The United Arab Emirates recently hosted a grand event at Zabeel Park in Dubai, celebrating the Indian community. The gathering was attended by Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, and A. Amarnath, Charge d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in the UAE. The event attracted over 100,000 attendees, including officials, diplomats, business leaders, and notable Indian community members.
Organised by "Emirates Loves India," the event showcased the creativity and diversity of Indians in the UAE. Attendees enjoyed musical performances, traditional fashion shows, handicrafts, and popular Indian cuisine. This festive atmosphere highlighted the strong cultural ties between Emiratis and Indians.
Noura Al Kaabi remarked on the enduring friendship between the UAE and India: "We come together to celebrate a friendship that has stood strong for centuries, a relationship built on trust, respect, and shared aspirations." She emphasised how historical exchanges have shaped their shared cultural rhythm.
Visitors experienced authentic Indian traditions through food stalls offering popular dishes and a handicraft exhibition. The programme also included family-friendly activities like musical performances, dance shows, live children's entertainment, and artistic displays. This vibrant celebration showcased India's rich heritage.
The successful organisation of this event reflects the UAE's dedication to fostering mutual respect among diverse cultures. Hosting it for a second year underscores efforts to strengthen cultural ties globally while celebrating its multicultural society's traditions.
Honouring Community Leaders
A ceremony recognised outstanding contributions by leading Indian community members in various fields within the UAE. Honourees included Dr. Vasu Shroff of Regal Group and Ram Pancholia from Shri Krishna Temple. Others honoured were Dr. Sanjay Paithankar of Right Health Clinic and Abdullah Poyil from Al Madina Group.
The UAE-India relationship is rooted in deep historical ties formalised by a Cultural Agreement signed in January 1975. This bond advanced with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in January 2017, further strengthening cooperation between both nations.
Economic Partnerships Flourish
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed in February 2022 and implemented in May 2022, has boosted trade relations significantly. Non-oil bilateral trade reached USD 37.6 billion during the first half of 2025—a 33.9% increase compared to 2024's same period figures.
The Indian community plays an essential role in shaping the UAE’s social fabric by contributing economically and culturally while deepening partnerships between these two countries further over time through shared aspirations for growth together as one united front moving forward into future endeavours alike!
