NMO And Ministry Of Defence Launch Campaign For National Service Law's 10th Anniversary Celebration
The National Media Office (NMO) and the Ministry of Defence have launched a media campaign to mark the 10th anniversary of the National Service Law. This initiative aims to highlight the law's role in fostering loyalty, patriotism, and sacrifice among Emiratis, contributing significantly to national security and stability.
The campaign underscores the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and NMO to demonstrate the law's positive impact on social, economic, and security fronts. The National Service Law reflects the UAE leadership's vision of nurturing responsible citizens, enhancing national awareness among youth, and preparing them to defend and advance national progress.

Details of upcoming celebrations were shared during a media briefing in Abu Dhabi. The "Waqfat Walaa" parade will feature the largest display of Armed Forces personnel ever seen in the UAE. Scheduled for 2nd December in Al Sameeh, this event coincides with Eid Al Etihad.
Al Sameeh is historically significant as it is where Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum signed the Union Accord on 18th February 1968. This agreement was pivotal in uniting all seven emirates under one nation.
Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Director-General of NMO, highlighted the importance of collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the National and Reserve Service Authority. He emphasised that the campaign will focus on success stories and how the law fosters values like loyalty, unity, and national responsibility.
The Director-General reiterated NMO's dedication to strengthening ties with the Ministry of Defence to achieve shared national goals. Dr. Jamal also stressed the media's crucial role in raising public awareness about national service's significance.
Reflections on a Decade
Brigadier Khalifa Hamad Al Kaabi, Chief of NSRA, remarked on celebrating a decade since implementing the National and Reserve Service Law. He stated: "As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the National and Reserve Service Law, we proudly reflect on the achievements of the past decade and appreciate the programme’s role in building a conscious and loyal generation dedicated to their homeland."
He further pledged continued efforts to develop youth capabilities for protecting national resources while honouring UAE's rich history documented by forefathers. The law remains a landmark in UAE history, reflecting an ambitious vision for preparing future-ready generations through rigorous training within Armed Forces.
This comprehensive approach ensures that service is regarded as an honourable duty while graduation becomes a privilege for those who complete it successfully.
