Night Of The Samurai: Japan And Mexico Boxing Stars Convene In Riyadh Ahead Of Major Fight Night
Media and fans gathered at Boulevard City for the Night of the Samurai press conference, part of Fight Week events, where Japanese and Mexican fighters discussed a Saturday card described as one of Saudi Arabia’s strongest boxing nights so far.
Promoter Eddie Hearn opened the event by welcoming attendees and stressing boxing’s expansion in Saudi Arabia, explaining that the cooperation between Riyadh Season and The Ring Magazine over the past two years shows how the Kingdom is becoming a central location for major bouts.

Hearn linked this progress to the guidance of Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation Turki Alalshikh, saying that this direction has helped increase international attention on the sport and supported the hosting of high-level events in the Kingdom.
Discussing the Night of the Samurai card, Hearn said the bill carries the spirit of Japanese samurai and the strong style of Mexican boxing, stressing that the main and co-main contests are especially competitive, with the four headline fighters sharing an unbeaten record over 105 professional fights.
Japanese champion Naoya Inoue and Mexican challenger Alan Picasso spoke about their clash, with Picasso thanking Saudi Arabia for the warm reception and confirming full readiness, while Inoue said the super bantamweight contest is a crucial stage in this weight class and important for securing a leading pound-for-pound position.
Another key name at the Night of the Samurai boxing press conference was Kenshiro Teraji, who explained that this bout marks a major point in a long career and said that preparation has gone to plan, with complete focus on making the most of this chance in Riyadh.
