Nigerian Siamese Twins Show Stability After Successful Separation Surgery In Riyadh

Riyadh, March 02, 2024 - In a recent update from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, has shared positive news about the Nigerian Siamese twins, Hasnah and Hussaynah. Following their complex separation surgery at King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital of King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard, their condition has been reported as stable.

The surgery, which took place 48 hours ago, has led to the twins being closely monitored in the intensive care unit. Dr. Al Rabeeah highlighted that Hasnah and Hussaynah are currently under anesthesia, receiving intravenous nutrition and necessary medications to maintain their stability. The medical team is keeping a vigilant eye on all health indicators, which are showing reassuring signs.

According to Dr. Al Rabeeah, the twins are expected to stay in intensive care for a period ranging from ten days to two weeks. Post this critical phase, they will be moved to the children’s ward following a comprehensive evaluation of their health status. He also mentioned that he has been in constant communication with the twins' parents, providing them with detailed updates on their daughters' condition.
