NHRI Conducts Fifth Visit To Monitor Workers' Accommodations In Fujairah

The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) recently visited a workers' accommodation in Fujairah. This visit is part of their ongoing efforts to monitor workers' conditions and ensure they receive rights under national and international laws. The NHRI aims to uphold these rights through regular field visits.

During the visit, the NHRI delegation engaged with workers to gather insights on their living and working conditions. These discussions are crucial for assessing the current situation and formulating recommendations to enhance worker protection in the UAE. Such interactions help in understanding the ground realities faced by workers.

NHRI's Fifth Visit to Workers' Accommodations

Dr. Zayed Al Shamsi, a Board of Trustees member, led the NHRI team. He was joined by other board members, including Mohamed Al Hammadi and Fatma Al Bedwawi. The Secretary-General of NHRI, Dr. Saeed Al Ghfeli, also participated alongside other key officials and experts in labour rights.

Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the NHRI, highlighted the institution's dedication to promoting workers' rights in the UAE. "The Institution continues to make dedicated efforts to uphold and promote workers’ rights in the UAE," he stated. This visit marks their fifth such initiative, showcasing their commitment to ensuring safe work environments.

The NHRI's strategy involves direct field monitoring to guarantee dignified living conditions for workers. They aim to preserve workers' dignity while supporting their overall well-being through these initiatives. Regular visits are integral to maintaining a culture of human rights across various societal segments.

Kruse further mentioned that these field visits are part of a broader mission to foster human rights awareness. "The NHRI will continue to carry out field visits across the country as part of its broader mission to promote a culture of human rights," he added. This approach reinforces justice and human dignity principles in all aspects of life.

The delegation included Abdulaziz Al Obathani from Regional and International Organisations Section, Ali Al Hosani from Human Rights Protection Department, Latifa Al Hosani from Media Center, along with NHRI staff and technical experts specialising in labour rights.

The NHRI remains committed to strengthening direct engagement with society's various segments through these visits. Their efforts aim at reinforcing justice principles and ensuring dignified working conditions for all employees across the nation.
