New Murabba Leads Riyadh Into A Sustainable Urban Future

New Murabba, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, reaffirmed its commitment to shaping Riyadh's future at the MENA Construction Summit Saudi Giga Projects 2024. The summit provided insights into the $880 billion giga projects program currently transforming Saudi Arabia. Key stakeholders from government entities, developers, contractors, and thought leaders within the construction ecosystem attended the event.

Salman Alhubeis, New Murabba's executive director of delivery, participated in the Keynote Leaders panel discussion titled "Update on the key development plans of Saudi giga projects." Alhubeis highlighted the significant progress made in laying the groundwork for Mukkab, an iconic building central to the development. Over 5 million cubic meters of material have been excavated, indicating strong momentum for attracting investors.

Raymond Rice, head of the master plan delivery division, detailed New Murabba's New Modern Downtown. Thomas Nilsson, executive director of delivery, led several workshops focusing on Al Mukkab and the development timetable. These sessions provided valuable discussions and insights into the project's progress and future plans.

Riyadh, as Saudi Arabia's capital, is expected to see its population surge to 10 million by 2030. New Murabba aims to give the city a new core downtown that will set new standards for quality of life and urban development. The project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting sustainable development and fostering innovation.

New Murabba is designed as one of the world’s first true 15-minute communities. Upon completion, every resident will be within a 15-minute walk of major amenities such as schools, hospitals, shopping centres, and mosques. This design aims to enhance convenience and quality of life for residents.
