Revolutionizing Riyadh: New Murabba's Partnership With Tourism Fund
New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) has recently entered into a significant partnership with the Tourism Development Fund (TDF) to spearhead the creation of New Murabba, poised to become the world's largest modern downtown. This collaboration is set to pioneer a new standard for urban development, aligning perfectly with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 for economic and social reform. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between NMDC and TDF will facilitate direct financing opportunities, granting NMDC access to TDF's vast expertise, networks, and investment prowess.
This strategic alliance is anticipated to unlock the full potential of New Murabba, transforming Riyadh into a premier global destination. It underscores the Kingdom's dedication to sustainable urban growth and crafting unparalleled experiences for visitors. TDF CEO Qusai bin Abdullah Al-Fakhri emphasized that this partnership would elevate Riyadh's stature as a leading commercial and financial hub. The initiative is in harmony with Vision 2030 and the National Tourism Strategy, focusing on developing a modern downtown that offers superior living, working, and entertainment options.

NMDC CEO Michael Dyke expressed confidence that this collaboration with TDF would broaden the Saudi economy's income sources and propel New Murabba into a global innovation leader. The development is committed to sustainability, featuring green spaces and promoting wellness through walking paths. The aim is to establish an extraordinary community for living, working, playing, and visiting, enhanced by easy access to various amenities.
At the heart of New Murabba will be the Mukaab, an architectural marvel inspired by contemporary Najdi design. This structure will boast a tower set upon a spiral base, encompassing retail outlets, cultural venues, tourist attractions, residential and hotel accommodations, commercial spaces, and leisure facilities. The Mukaab is designed to transform Riyadh's skyline and offer visitors an unparalleled experience.
Established in 2022 and fully owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), NMDC operates under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as chairman of its board of directors. Meanwhile, TDF's mission is to boost tourism investments and initiatives through both financing and non-financing programs. Working closely with the private sector, TDF aims to fulfill Vision 2030 and the National Tourism Strategy's objectives.
