UAE Government Announces New Ministerial Appointments By Sheikh Mohammed
Under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has announced new ministerial roles within the UAE Government. Lana Zaki Nusseibeh and Saeed Mubarak Rashed Al Hajeri have been appointed as Ministers of State.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed expressed his confidence in their abilities, stating, "Following consultations with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, we announce today the appointment of Lana Nusseibeh and Saeed Al Hajeri as Ministers of State in the UAE Government. We wish them every success in carrying out their current and future responsibilities and extend our appreciation to all our national teams across the UAE for their dedication and service."

Lana Zaki Nusseibeh has a distinguished career in diplomacy. She served as Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs and was the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations from September 2013 to April 2024. Her role included co-chairing discussions on Security Council reform between 2017 and 2019.
In addition to her UN duties, Nusseibeh chaired the Executive Board of UN Women in 2017. She also held the position of Vice President at the United Nations General Assembly. Since 2015, she has co-chaired the Friends of the Future of the United Nations Group alongside the UK.
Saeed Al Hajeri brings extensive experience from various leadership roles. He is Chairman of the Emirates Medicines Foundation since June 2025 and previously served as Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs. He holds a Business Administration degree from Lewis & Clark College in the US.
Al Hajeri's career includes significant positions such as Executive Director at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and completed an Advanced Executive Education Programme at Harvard Business School.
Al Hajeri's influence extends beyond national borders. He serves on several strategic boards like Salama Islamic Arab Insurance Company and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA). Recognised by the World Economic Forum in 2007 as one of the Top 250 Young Global Leaders, he actively contributes to economic committees.
Currently, Al Hajeri represents UAE interests internationally as Sherpa to the BRICS Group. His involvement ensures that UAE maintains a strong presence in global economic discussions, reflecting his commitment to advancing national interests on an international stage.
The appointments reflect a strategic vision for strengthening governance through experienced leadership. Both appointees bring valuable expertise that will support ongoing efforts to enhance UAE's role on both regional and global platforms.
