New Initiatives Unveiled At Al Multaqa Meeting To Empower Abu Dhabi’s Private Sector

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), alongside the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADDCI), recently held the sixth quarterly Al Multaqa meeting. This event introduced several initiatives to strengthen the private sector and promote sustainable economic growth in Abu Dhabi. The gathering underscored the emirate's effective diversification strategy, proactive policies, and investments in key sectors.

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADDED, hosted the meeting. He stressed Abu Dhabi’s dedication to creating a smart, diversified economy that integrates advanced technologies with human development and sustainability. This approach aims to benefit future generations. Al Zaabi highlighted that entrepreneurship, public-private partnerships, and innovation are crucial for accelerating economic growth and achieving diversification goals.

Empowering Abu Dhabi’s Private Sector Initiatives

Shamis Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of ADCCI, unveiled several new initiatives under ADCCI's Roadmap 2025-2027. These initiatives focus on fostering a prosperous business ecosystem, encouraging innovation, and supporting entrepreneurship. The goal is to transition Abu Dhabi into a smart, diversified, and sustainable economy.

Among the announced initiatives is a ‘Policy Test Lab’ designed to evaluate policy impacts on the private sector. Additionally, a ‘Partnerships Booster’ will facilitate access to sustainable digital infrastructure. A centralised ‘Procurement Platform’ will enable Chamber members to connect with local State-owned entities (SOEs) and government tenders.

The ADCCI also introduced measures to improve access to ESG and digital credentials for its members. Efforts are underway to enhance members' access to export markets through various initiatives. One such initiative is the ‘B2B Aggregator,’ which aims to streamline B2B bulk buying negotiations and foster partnerships.

During the session, sectoral working groups were introduced by the Chamber. These groups play a significant role in supporting business development by enhancing industry standards through collaboration between public and private sectors. Representatives from Al Reem Hospital discussed these collaborative efforts in detail.

Dispute Resolution Forum

The meeting concluded with a presentation on arbitrateAD, the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre. This centre serves as an impartial forum for resolving disputes involving commercial and government entities. It highlights Abu Dhabi's commitment to providing neutral dispute resolution mechanisms.

The initiatives presented at this meeting reflect Abu Dhabi's ongoing efforts to empower its private sector while ensuring sustainable economic development. By focusing on innovation and strategic partnerships, the emirate continues its journey towards becoming a leading global economic hub.
