New Variable Parking Rates In Dubai Starts April 4. How Much Will You Be Paying Now
In a move to adjust parking tariffs based on demand, Dubai's Parkin is set to implement a new variable rate pricing system for its operated parking areas. This system, anticipated to begin on April 4, introduces peak pricing for a portion of the day, marking a significant shift in how parking costs are determined in the city.
Under the new adjustments, prices will vary between peak and off-peak hours. Peak hours, which will see an increase in rates, span 6 out of the 14 chargeable hours each day. This approach aims to better manage parking space availability and traffic flow during times of high demand.
Parkin has indicated that the pricing structure during off-peak hours - specifically from 10 am to 4 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm - will remain consistent with the current rates, ensuring that changes affect only the busiest periods.
Parkin, a DFM-listed entity that falls under the RTA's wide range of transportation services, had initially planned to roll out these changes by the end of March. However, the most probable start date is now set for April 4. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to optimize parking operations and enhance the overall efficiency of the city's transport system.
