New Dialysis Centre Opens In Abu Dhabi Offering Free Lifesaving Care For Kidney Patients
In a significant development for health care in Abu Dhabi, the SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre has opened its doors to the public, offering critical dialysis services to those suffering from kidney failure. This initiative, a collaboration between the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma'an, PureHealth, and SEHA, aims to improve the health outcomes of the community by providing free and accessible care.
Located strategically on Zayed The First Street, the centre initially plans to serve 112 patients, with treatments available three times a week. Plans are in place to expand the facility, increasing its capacity to serve more patients and introduce peritoneal dialysis services.
The staff at the centre, comprised of SEHA Kidney Care professionals, utilizes state-of-the-art hemodiafiltration machines integrated with electronic medical records. This advanced technology enables real-time monitoring and data analytics, further enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.
With the support of Ma'an, this center is set to receive community contributions to further its mission of offering crucial healthcare services. This move aligns with Ma'an's 'From The Community To The Community' initiative and the UAE's Year of Community, highlighting a collective effort to meet the urgent social needs of Abu Dhabi's residents.
Abdullah Humaid Al Ameri, Director-General of Ma'an, stated, "We are thankful to all contributors for their invaluable efforts and support in the opening of the SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre, which is crucial for the survival of renal patients. The centre comes as part of our 'From the Community to the Community' initiative in which we support collective community effort, emphasising on the power of a unified community in achieving long-term social impact. This centre aligns with the Authority's commitment to enhancing access to essential healthcare, ultimately improving the well-being of the community members in Abu Dhabi."
The centre not only serves as a medical facility but also as a space for community engagement and artistic expression. Artists Ghaiath Al Rouba, Nadeem Ka, Charlie VillaGracia, and Christian Ray have contributed their talents, creating murals to foster a healing environment for patients.
Saeed Jaber Al Kuwaiti, Group CEO of SEHA, said, "SEHA is committed to delivering world-class care and ensuring that essential healthcare services are accessible to those in need, in line with the Year of Community. As part of PureHealth, we play a key role in enabling this vital centre, providing the facility and expertise to support our community. This initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration with the Authority of Social Contribution - Ma'an and PureHealth, driving meaningful impact and improving lives."
