As the largest esports tournament worldwide, it crowned new champions in various games, showcasing intense competition with no repeat winners across 11 tournaments so far.

Joona Sotala, known as "Serral," from Finland, won the StarCraft II title by defeating Korea's Kim Doh-woo, or "Classic," with a score of 5-2. This victory marked Serral's third world title, solidifying his status among the game's legends after losing only two maps throughout the tournament. In the Honor of Kings competition, AG.AL triumphed over TT Global in a dramatic comeback from 1-3 to win 4-3, earning a $750,000 prize. Xu Biqing, or "YiNuo," made history by securing his second title in this tournament.

Esports World Cup Week Three Highlights

NOVA Esports set a new record for the fastest match ever by defeating Twisted Minds in just six minutes and 23 seconds. Meanwhile, OpTic Gaming dominated the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 final with a 4-0 victory over Vancouver Surge, gaining 1,000 club points. Anthony Cuevas-Castro, known as "Shotzzy," was named MVP and received a $10,000 bonus.

PUBG Mobile and Chess Competitions

The group stage of PUBG Mobile concluded with eight teams advancing directly to the finals. Teams like DRX, Weibo Gaming, and Team Secret secured their spots. Alpha7 Esports and Team Falcons will compete in crucial qualifiers to claim remaining positions. Alpha7 aims to defend its title for a second consecutive year. In chess, four grandmasters advanced to the main event with a $1.5 million prize pool. Qualifiers include India's Nihal Sarin and Uzbekistan's Javokhir Sindarov.
