NEOM Celebrates Pioneers Of Change At First Social Responsibility Awards
NEOM, the sustainable development project in northwestern Saudi Arabia, recently held its first NEOM Social Responsibility Awards ceremony. The event celebrated the exceptional contributions of NEOM’s employees, sectors, departments, partners, and local communities. NEOM Chief Executive Nadhmi Al-Nasr praised the award recipients for their dedication to social responsibility.
Al-Nasr stated, "Our commitment to social responsibility is a reflection of our core values and aligns seamlessly with NEOM's vision and the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030. Sustainability, as one of NEOM’s pillars, drives us to innovate and act in ways that create lasting, positive impact. The remarkable efforts of our teams and individuals in driving meaningful change demonstrate our dedication to building a sustainable future that benefits not only our communities but also our nation. We are proud and happy to celebrate these contributions as a testament to our shared vision for a prosperous and inclusive future."

The ceremony was attended by NEOM executives, employees, business partners, school students, and members of the local NEOM and Tabuk communities. A total of 19 winners were recognised across three main categories: NEOM Sectors, NEOM Partners, and NEOM Individuals.
The awards featured five sub-categories: NEOM Employees, NEOM Families, NEOM Community School Students, Partner Employees, and Local Community. In the NEOM Sectors category, three winners were acknowledged: NEOM Operations, THE LINE proponent, and Oxagon.
In the NEOM Partners category, Nesma & Partners, Ernst & Young (EY), and King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) were honoured. Thirteen individuals received accolades in the NEOM Individuals category: Bader Aljishi, Waleed BinSalman, Farida Qtishat, Salima Rahim, Juanita van Tonder, Gunay Aghayeva, Amarah Rahim, Aritom Pokidysevn, Nadirah Rahim, Thadickal V. Joydas, Sultan Alharbi, Reema Alfakhri, and Anas Alshafi.
Encouraging Broader Participation
The awards aim to highlight best practices and exemplary contributions from individuals and institutions committed to social responsibility. By recognising these efforts, NEOM hopes to inspire broader participation in social initiatives by both individuals and enterprises.
In 2023 alone, 50,000 people benefited from NEOM’s social responsibility programs. Additionally, 26 projects were awarded to companies in Tabuk while 583 individuals from NEOM and Tabuk gained employment opportunities.
Promoting Socioeconomic Growth
The previous year saw the introduction of an integrated volunteering ecosystem at NEOM. This initiative engaged over 1,300 volunteers across 68 different opportunities aimed at serving their communities.
NEOM SR acts as an enabler of socioeconomic growth by promoting a culture of social responsibility throughout its regions and sectors. These efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives and demonstrate a commitment to creating a lasting positive impact on society.
The awards are part of NEOM SR’s journey towards accelerating progress and enhancing quality of life for the communities in NEOM and Tabuk. Through these initiatives, they aim to embed value within these communities while fostering a legacy that contributes positively to the world.
