NEOM Beach Games 2024 Concludes With World Aquatics Open Water Swimming Cup Featuring Top Athletes
The World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup NEOM recently took place at NEOM Bay, Saudi Arabia. This event marked the conclusion of both the Open Water Swimming World Cup series and the NEOM Beach Games 2024. Seventy athletes from 17 different countries participated, including two from Saudi Arabia. The competition featured 37 men and 33 women, showcasing NEOM's dedication to hosting top-tier events along its Red Sea coastline.
Florian Wellbrock emerged victorious in the Men's category, while Moesha Johnson won the Women's final. Their participation added prestige to this inaugural event. The competition included renowned athletes like Kristof Rasovszky and Moesha Johnson, who are Paris 2024 Olympics gold and silver medalists, respectively.

By incorporating open-water swimming into the NEOM Beach Games program, NEOM aims to promote adventure sports within Saudi Arabia. The initiative is part of a broader plan to develop sports facilities and programs that encourage physical activity and well-being among athletes of all abilities.
Jan Paterson, Managing Director of Sport at NEOM, expressed gratitude for hosting the grand finale of the 2024 World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup. He emphasized that this event strengthens NEOM's ambition to create opportunities for both domestic and international athletes.

The World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup NEOM wrapped up the third edition of the NEOM Beach Games successfully. Over three weeks, more than 1,000 athletes from 71 nationalities participated, including Paris 2024 Olympics medalists. This event further solidified NEOM's reputation as a premier destination for world-class sporting events.
