Neo Space Group Unveils Saudi Arabia's First Earth Observation Marketplace For Enhanced Geospatial Data Access
Neo Space Group (NSG), a company under the Public Investment Fund, has introduced the Earth Observation (EO) Marketplace. This is Saudi Arabia's first dedicated platform for EO data, managed by NSG Geospatial Services and powered by UP42, a fully owned subsidiary of NSG. The platform aims to cater to the increasing demand for advanced EO and geospatial data solutions.
The EO Marketplace is designed to connect a growing network of EO data providers with value-added service providers. It offers advanced geospatial analytics and data processing capabilities. The platform serves public sector agencies, Saudi companies, and international users by providing high-resolution satellite imagery and EO data products.

This platform acts as a one-stop shop for solution developers and service providers. It is equipped to meet future needs of government entities within Saudi Arabia. The marketplace is expected to expand EO data availability across various sectors such as environment, infrastructure, energy, real estate, mining, transportation, logistics, agriculture, and more.
The launch aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives and goals. It follows NSG's acquisition of UP42 GmbH from Airbus, initially announced in December 2024. UP42 is a digital platform leveraging cloud computing technology to provide solutions for accessing and analyzing Earth observation data.
NSG CEO Martijn Blanken stated: "The launch of the EO Marketplace reflects the Kingdom’s remarkable trajectory of growth and the increasing demand for EO data. Today, more than ever, EO data plays a pivotal role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s transformational Vision 2030 — from infrastructure development and urban expansion to optimized resource management."
Blanken highlighted that given Saudi Arabia's vast geography of over 2.15 million square kilometers—almost the size of Western Europe—the platform will be both a valuable marketplace and decision-making tool across numerous sectors.
Technological Innovation in Focus
Frank Salzgeber from the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) commented on value creation shifting downstream in the EO supply chain where AI technologies intersect with space data. He noted that the market is at an ideal inflection point.
Salzgeber added: "Alongside enhancing national capabilities, the platform is expected to accelerate the adoption of space technologies in the Kingdom. It reflects our national priorities: fostering technological innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building secure infrastructure."
The release also mentioned NSG's appreciation for CST's continuous guidance and support throughout this journey—from licensing to enabling strategic alignment.
