NCVC Achieves Gold Award In Sustainability At 2024 Stevie Awards Ceremony

The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has been awarded the Gold Award in the sustainability category at the 2024 Middle East & North Africa Stevie Awards. This accolade was presented to Eng. Ahmad Alanazi, General Manager of the Afforestation Program, during the closing ceremony held in Istanbul, Türkiye. Saudi Aramco secured second place, while Etihad Rail came third.

The NCVC's recognition is linked to its involvement in the National Greening Program. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by focusing on environmental conservation and expanding green spaces. It also aims to combat desertification and protect natural resources. The program promotes sustainable irrigation practices and ensures that tree species are suitable for local ecosystems and climates.

The goal of greening 10 billion trees under the Saudi Green Initiative is a significant part of this effort. The Stevie Awards, established in 2002, honour leading organisations worldwide for their outstanding achievements and positive contributions. The NCVC is dedicated to protecting vegetation cover areas, rehabilitating degraded sites, and combating illegal logging.
