NCVC Partners With Ministry Of Health To Enhance Greening And Vegetation Cover Efforts
The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Health. This agreement is designed to enhance cooperation and implement necessary measures to preserve ecosystems and natural vegetation. The initiative supports national efforts to increase green spaces, control desertification, and improve life quality.
Under this MoU, a comprehensive list of locations will be created, detailing the number and distance between areas suitable for afforestation. Studies will also be conducted to identify local trees and plants best suited for each site's conditions. This collaboration aims to guide environmental activities, programs, and campaigns while exchanging national strategies related to increasing vegetation cover.

The MoU includes sharing standards, information, data, and expertise to promote vegetation growth. It also encourages community involvement in related programs and initiatives. This partnership is part of NCVC's ongoing effort to collaborate with governmental, private, and non-profit sectors. The goal is to boost vegetation, rehabilitate degraded areas, expand green spaces, combat desertification, reduce sand encroachment, and conserve natural resources.
NCVC is committed to developing and protecting vegetation cover by monitoring and restoring degraded areas. It aims to prevent illegal tree cutting while managing rangelands and safeguarding forests and national parks. These efforts align with the Saudi Green Initiative's objectives of creating a thriving green environment.
Through various projects, NCVC supports global efforts to combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions. These initiatives promote sustainable environmental and economic development in line with the Saudi Green Initiative's goals. NCVC's dedication extends beyond national borders as it contributes to worldwide environmental sustainability efforts.
The MoU represents a significant step in NCVC's mission to broaden collaboration across different sectors. By fostering partnerships with governmental bodies like the Ministry of Health, NCVC aims to achieve its objectives more effectively. This strategic alliance underscores the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
