NCVC Launches Grow Impact Initiative To Clean Floodplains And Disperse 60 Million Seeds In Hafar Al-Batin

The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has introduced the "Grow Impact" initiative under the patronage of Governor of Hafar Al-Batin, Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Faisal. This campaign seeks to engage communities in preserving and expanding vegetation cover, while also promoting sustainability and environmental awareness across all societal segments.

At the event, Dr. Khaled Al-Abdulkader, CEO of NCVC, outlined the initiative's mission to disperse 60 million seeds and clean floodplains throughout Hafar Al-Batin Governorate. These efforts are part of the broader National Greening Season 2024, which aims to increase green spaces and address environmental challenges.

Dr. Al-Abdulkader described "Grow Impact" as a significant step toward achieving sustainable development goals, restoring ecological balance, and enhancing biodiversity. He emphasized that the initiative serves as a call to action, encouraging environmental responsibility among individuals and communities alike.

The initiative also focuses on reducing waste in natural areas and protecting plant and animal species from harm caused by human activities. It aims to combat desertification by inspiring communities to safeguard natural resources and minimize environmental impact.

These goals align with Saudi Arabia's vision for protecting the planet and its natural heritage. The NCVC continues its mission to develop and protect vegetation cover across the Kingdom through various measures.

This includes rehabilitating degraded areas, monitoring violations, combating illegal logging, and overseeing rangelands, forests, and national parks. These actions play a vital role in promoting sustainable development and supporting the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative.

The "Grow Impact" initiative represents a transformative effort to engage communities in environmental preservation while aligning with national goals for sustainability. By fostering community participation, it aims to create lasting change in how natural resources are managed and protected.
