NCVC Launches 'Gear Up And Go' Campaign To Encourage Responsible Camping Practices
The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has initiated the "Gear Up and Go" campaign. This initiative aims to promote responsible camping in designated vegetation cover areas. The campaign encourages campers to use the "Nabati" platform for obtaining necessary permits and educates them on best practices for a safe camping experience.
The NCVC has introduced a detailed guide that lists over 50 national parks within vegetation cover regions. This guide, released during the winter camping season, offers straightforward instructions for securing a camping permit. It also includes a checklist of essential gear, safety tips to avoid accidents, and advice for managing unexpected situations while camping.

Campers are reminded of their responsibility to protect the environment while enjoying nature. The guide emphasizes safeguarding biodiversity by disposing of waste in designated areas and lighting fires only in approved spots. Campers must ensure fires are completely extinguished before leaving the site.
Additionally, the use of local firewood or charcoal is strictly prohibited under Environmental Law regulations. Violators may face penalties. This measure is part of broader efforts to preserve natural resources and maintain ecological balance in these areas.
The NCVC remains committed to its mission of restoring and protecting vegetation sites across Saudi Arabia. Its activities include rehabilitating degraded lands, managing rangelands, forests, and national parks, as well as preventing violations like illegal logging.
The center also focuses on promoting sustainable use of natural resources and conserving biodiversity. These efforts are crucial for maintaining the ecological health of the Kingdom's diverse landscapes.
