NCVC Launches 'Gear Up And Go' Campaign To Encourage Responsible Camping Practices
The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has initiated the "Gear Up and Go" campaign. This effort aims to promote responsible camping in designated vegetation cover areas. The campaign encourages using the "Nabati" platform for obtaining camping permits and educates campers on best practices for a safe and enjoyable experience.
As part of this initiative, the NCVC has published a detailed guide that includes over 50 national parks within vegetation cover regions. This guide aligns with the current winter camping season. It offers straightforward instructions on acquiring a camping permit, along with a checklist of essential gear, safety tips to prevent accidents, and advice for managing unexpected situations.

The guide emphasizes the importance of environmental protection while enjoying nature. Campers are advised to safeguard biodiversity by disposing of waste in designated areas and lighting fires only in approved locations. Ensuring fires are completely extinguished before leaving is also stressed.
Additionally, the guide reminds campers that using local firewood or charcoal is prohibited. Violations are subject to penalties under the Environmental Law and its regulations. This measure aims to protect local resources and maintain ecological balance.
"The NCVC continues its mission to restore, protect, and oversee vegetation sites across the Kingdom," states the release. The center's efforts include rehabilitating degraded areas, managing rangelands, forests, and national parks, preventing violations, and combating illegal logging.
The NCVC also focuses on promoting sustainable use of natural resources and conserving biodiversity. These initiatives are crucial for maintaining ecological health and ensuring long-term environmental sustainability in Saudi Arabia.
