NCEMA Hosts Workshop To Craft National Support Framework For People Of Determination

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) recently conducted a workshop for its strategic partners. The focus was on "Developing the National Framework and Guideline for the Needs of People of Determination." This initiative is part of NCEMA's broader plan to improve the national emergency management system by including all community members.

The workshop included a presentation of the 2024 action plan in its initial phase. It concentrated on studying global best practices for people of determination. Emphasis was placed on joint coordination with relevant entities across the country, highlighting the importance of policies implemented by these entities.

Supporting People of Determination

NCEMA stressed the necessity of providing support to all community segments, including people of determination, during crises and disasters. The guideline for their needs is a crucial step towards enhancing the crisis and emergency management community's ability to offer effective responses tailored to every individual.

Working groups from strategic partners were formed during the workshop. Their task is to develop the national framework and guideline for the needs of people of determination. A timeline has been set to review the first draft of this guideline by year-end.

The project aims to identify the needs of people of determination by considering national risk sectors. It ensures their safety through infrastructure improvements and includes effective responses in implementing the Sendai Framework and Sustainable Development Goals.

Enhancing Preparedness and Readiness

NCEMA, along with its strategic partners, is working to raise preparedness and readiness for all risks by integrating all community members into current and future plans. Continuous development and updating of mechanisms are underway to enhance harmony among national entities.

NCEMA appreciated the collaborative efforts of its strategic partners during this workshop. It expressed anticipation for continued cooperation to achieve further progress in this vital field.

The authority highlighted the need for integration between various entities to enhance the national system's capabilities. This integration ensures efficient, effective, and flexible responses, guaranteeing everyone's safety and well-being.

The project also aims to provide a future environment that guarantees inclusion for people of determination in upcoming projects. This proactive approach ensures their readiness through infrastructure improvements.

NCEMA emphasised that developing this guideline is essential for enhancing crisis management capabilities. The goal is to ensure that every individual receives appropriate responses during emergencies.

This initiative reflects NCEMA's commitment to improving emergency management systems through inclusive strategies. By focusing on global best practices, they aim to create a safer environment for all community members.
