Nazaha President Mazin Al-Kahmous Congratulates Saudi Leadership On GlobE Network Presidency Win
Mazin Al-Kahmous, head of the Saudi delegation at the high-level meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) and President of Nazaha, congratulated King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saudi Arabia's election to lead the network from 2025 to 2027. This announcement was made during a meeting in Beijing, China.
Al-Kahmous highlighted that this achievement aligns with the leadership's vision to position Saudi Arabia as a leader in various sectors, including anti-corruption efforts. He noted that it reflects global confidence in the Kingdom's initiatives, led by Nazaha, to combat international corruption crimes. He also expressed hopes for using the network to limit safe havens for corrupt individuals and their assets.

The GlobE Network was initiated by Saudi Arabia during the G20 Summit ministerial meeting hosted by the Kingdom in 2020. The United Nations officially adopted it during the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption held in Egypt. UN Secretary General António Guterres praised Saudi Arabia's role in establishing this network.
Dr. Nasser AbalKhail, Vice President of Nazaha for International Cooperation, was congratulated by Al-Kahmous on his new role as president of the network. Al-Kahmous wished him success in leading these efforts. The network aims to develop tools necessary to tackle evolving corruption patterns and concealment methods.
Since its inception, over 219 anti-corruption agencies and international organizations from more than 120 countries have joined the GlobE Network. This widespread participation underscores the initiative's success and global recognition. Spain was appointed as chair of the network’s Steering Committee, with Saudi Arabia serving as vice chair.
The UNODC serves as the secretariat for this network, which aims to enhance international cooperation against corruption. Al-Kahmous emphasized that this development is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fighting cross-border corruption crimes effectively.
This initiative has been instrumental in fostering international collaboration against corruption, demonstrating Saudi Arabia's leadership in this critical area. The Kingdom continues to work towards reducing safe havens for corrupt individuals and enhancing global anti-corruption measures through its active participation in such networks.
