National Water Company Achieves Operational Success In Ramadan For Makkah And Madinah

The National Water Company (NWC) has recently shared insights into its successful operational and technical strategy for managing water supplies during the Ramadan season of the year 1445 AH in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. A total of 40.2 million cubic metres of water was distributed, with Makkah receiving 22 million cubic metres and Madinah 18.2 million cubic metres. This initiative underscores the company's commitment to ensuring the availability and quality of water services for residents, visitors, and guests of God during this significant period.

According to NWC, the preparation for Ramadan involved a comprehensive operational and technical plan aimed at providing a capacity of 5.7 million cubic metres of water—3 million cubic metres for Makkah and 2.7 million cubic metres for Madinah. This planning also included equipping the workforce and operation and maintenance teams with the latest equipment and mechanisms to ensure fieldwork is conducted according to the highest standards.

Ensuring water quality was a key component of the operational plan. NWC implemented regular checks through the withdrawal of samples for analysis in laboratories located in both cities. The company conducted over 46,000 laboratory tests for water quality, with 30,000 tests in Makkah and 16,500 in Madinah, demonstrating its dedication to maintaining high standards of water quality for the well-being of all.

This strategic approach by NWC highlights its efforts to manage and provide essential services effectively during peak seasons, reflecting its capability to handle increased demands while ensuring service quality. The successful execution of this plan showcases NWC's role in supporting the infrastructure needs of Makkah and Madinah, especially during times of significant religious observance.
