National Programme For Coders And Samsung Expand AI Education For Over 4,000 UAE Students
The National Programme for Coders and Samsung Gulf Electronics have expanded their Galaxy AI Pioneers (GAIP) initiative. This programme aims to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) education into classrooms throughout the UAE. The focus is on training over 4,000 students in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in AI, coding, content creation, online safety, and other related fields.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud, Director at the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, highlighted the UAE government's dedication to nurturing young national talents. "The UAE seeks to empower youth and prepare them to tackle future digital challenges through advanced training programmes," he stated. This aligns with the nation's vision of digital transformation and a knowledge-based economy.

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics such as AI fundamentals, Python programming, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, AI robotics, and natural language processing. It is designed to equip students with essential skills for the future digital landscape. The programme has already started in 15 schools offering British, American, and IB curriculums for students aged 11-14.
Shafi Alam from Samsung Gulf Electronics remarked on the programme's impact: "By weaving artificial intelligence and digital literacy directly into daily learning, we're fostering a generation of innovators who will shape the UAE's digital future." The pilot programme's success indicates a strong interest in advanced technology education among young learners.
The curriculum is structured around three main pillars: coding & AI track for technical skills development, creative content development using Galaxy AI tools, and a crucial digital safety component for responsible technology use. Students gain hands-on experience with Galaxy AI devices and real-world applications to build robust technological capabilities.
A specialised course on online safety is also part of the initiative. This course will reach 900 parents to create a supportive environment for young learners navigating their technological journey. The initiative supports the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 by reinforcing its position as a leader in technological innovation.
Supporting Future Innovators
The GAIP programme has seen significant progress with three consecutive batches of over 140 young innovators trained in 2024. This strategic effort not only prepares students for future challenges but also encourages entrepreneurship within technology sectors. It supports ideas that enhance the UAE's status as a global hub for technology and innovation.
This initiative represents a significant step towards empowering youth through education in advanced technologies. By focusing on developing technological skills and fostering innovation among young learners, it contributes positively to the UAE's digital landscape transformation.
