National Olympic Committee Approves Operational Budget And Sports Program For 2024
The National Olympic Committee's General Assembly convened for its routine meeting in Dubai, under the leadership of Sheikh Rashed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the Olympic Committee. The assembly was well-attended by key figures including Dr. Ahmed Al Falasi, Vice President of the Olympic Committee, Fares Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Committee, along with representatives from member organizations and several media outlets.
Key decisions were made during this gathering, notably the approval of the final accounts and administrative report for 2023. Additionally, the auditor's report was reviewed and approved alongside the operational budget for 2024 and the budget allocated for sports participations in the same year. A significant development was the acceptance of the UAE Luge Federation into the Olympic Committee membership.

The assembly also greenlit the sports tournaments program for 2024. This includes a series of prestigious events such as the First Gulf Youth Games set to take place in the UAE from April 16 to May 2, the Thirty-Third Olympic Games in Paris from July 12 to August 11, the First Gulf Indoor and Combat Games in Riyadh in September, and the Sixth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Thailand come November.
Sheikh Rashed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi emphasized the General Assembly's pivotal role in laying a robust foundation for a thriving national sports journey within the Olympic movement in the UAE since its inception in 1979. He highlighted how it has consistently supported decisions, initiatives, and programs that have bolstered the UAE's stature on major sports stages globally.

Additionally, attention is drawn towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games where UAE athletes are set to compete following successful qualifications in three sports, with prospects of participating in more disciplines.
