National Initiative Launched To Enhance Passion For Science And Technology In Saudi Arabia

The National Initiative to Discover Passion and Unleash Potential in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) 2025–2030 was inaugurated at the King Salman Science Oasis in Riyadh. This event was held under the patronage of Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan. The initiative aims to foster a scientific culture throughout Saudi Arabia.

Several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the launch ceremony. These agreements were between the King Salman Science Oasis and various government and private entities. These organisations are participating as strategic partners in this initiative.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Education and the King Salman Science Oasis seeks to align with national education and culture systems' strategic goals. It aims to improve learning outcomes in STEM fields by promoting interactive experiences, innovative exhibits, workshops, and dialogue sessions.

In its first phase, the initiative will host 11 science festivals across different regions of Saudi Arabia during the current academic year. These festivals aim to provide an engaging educational experience for all segments of society. They also aim to nurture passion for science and technology while developing knowledge, values, and skills.

The initiative follows a "learning through entertainment" approach. This aligns with the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program and Saudi Vision 2030. It seeks to enhance understanding and practical application in STEM fields through engaging methods.

Sponsors of the initiative were honoured for their effective contributions during the launch ceremony. Their support is crucial for achieving the initiative's goals of promoting scientific culture across the Kingdom.

Building Sustainable Partnerships

The initiative also aims to build sustainable partnerships with private and non-profit sectors. This effort is intended to strengthen the ecosystem of innovation and creativity within Saudi Arabia.

By fostering these partnerships, the initiative hopes to create a supportive environment for innovation that benefits both individuals and society as a whole.
