Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family, presented the agenda's objectives. She explained that it aligns with UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s declaration of 2026 as the "Year of Family." This initiative underscores the leadership’s commitment to empowering Emirati families as key to development and social cohesion.

The agenda is built on three strategic pillars. The first pillar focuses on enhancing family identity by promoting a "family growth mindset." It encourages community engagement in reshaping perceptions about family life and instilling family growth as a core national value.

The second pillar aims at consolidating family foundations by offering social, economic, health, and housing support. This creates an environment where young people can establish and sustain families effectively. The agenda seeks to boost marriage rates among Emiratis and increase birth rates by 2031.

Suhail noted that over 20 federal and local entities collaborated on developing this agenda. It represents a shared vision between government and community to build prosperous families essential for national progress. Initiatives will be launched focusing on work-life balance and reproductive health programs.

Empowering Families

The third pillar centres on empowering families by reinforcing ties that promote growth and social cohesion. Suhail mentioned that initiatives will address themes like positive mindsets, behaviours, and various support forms. These efforts aim to counter external influences affecting family values.

Suhail emphasised that the agenda aspires to reaffirm the family's role as a source of identity for youth while strengthening parental pride in raising future generations. The launch coincides with efforts to celebrate Emirati family values in 2026.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the Ministry of Family's efforts alongside federal and local entities in developing this agenda. He expressed confidence in national teams achieving its goals, noting that family matters are central to UAE’s strategic priorities.

The event was attended by several dignitaries including H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
