National Cybersecurity Authority Begins Licensing Tier 2 MSOC Service Providers In Saudi Arabia

The National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has started issuing Tier 2 licenses for Managed Security Operations Center (MSOC) services. This initiative aligns with the NCA's strategic goals to enhance Saudi Arabia's cybersecurity sector and attract investments. The aim is to bolster national cybersecurity, ensuring organizations across the Kingdom have access to reliable and high-quality cybersecurity services while nurturing specialized national talent.

Licensed MSOC providers can offer various services, including detecting cyber threats and advising on how to address them. However, Tier 2 licenses exclude government organizations and those managing Critical National Infrastructures (CNIs), as outlined by the Regulatory Framework for Licensing the Provision of MSOC Services.

Tier 2 MSOC Licensing Starts in Saudi Arabia

The NCA plays a crucial role in enhancing the Kingdom’s cybersecurity posture. It aims to protect vital interests, national security, critical infrastructure, priority sectors, and government services. The authority also focuses on stimulating growth in the cybersecurity sector by fostering innovation and investment.

Applications for Tier 2 MSOC licenses are still open through the National Cybersecurity Services Portal (Haseen). The NCA encourages entities to utilize services from licensed providers. A list of companies currently licensed for Tier 2 MSOC services is available on the NCA’s official website at www.nca.gov.sa.

The NCA is responsible for licensing individuals and non-governmental entities to conduct cybersecurity-related activities. As the national reference for all cybersecurity matters in Saudi Arabia, it ensures that organizations have access to mature cybersecurity solutions.

The authority's efforts are directed towards strengthening national security and safeguarding critical infrastructure. By promoting investment in the cybersecurity sector, the NCA aims to develop a robust framework that supports both innovation and protection.

This strategic move by the NCA not only enhances cybersecurity but also contributes to developing local expertise in this vital field. By offering comprehensive MSOC services, licensed providers play a key role in maintaining secure operations across various sectors within the Kingdom.
