National CSR Fund's Impact Lab Session Highlights Climate Action And Sustainability Advancements In UAE
The National CSR Fund, in partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), recently hosted an engaging session under its 'Impact Lab' initiative. This event aimed to explore significant advancements in climate action and sustainability within the UAE. Majra's vision is to embed social responsibility and environmental governance values in the private sector.
Eng Amal Abdulrahim, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector and CEO of AI and Innovation at MOCCAE, highlighted the importance of partnerships between public and private sectors. "This strategic collaboration with Majra symbolises a critical milestone in the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment's ongoing efforts to achieve sustainable food and environmental security," she stated.

Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra – National CSR Fund, emphasised their commitment to advancing sustainable development goals. She noted that Majra is dedicated to addressing climate change by developing green solutions in collaboration with the private sector. "At Majra, we remain steadfast in our efforts to address various climate change challenges by developing green solutions and strategies that promote sustainability across priority sectors," she remarked.
The session titled ‘Smart Environments and Thriving Communities: Best Practices in Climate Resilience and Sustainability’ brought together thought leaders from various sectors. These included agriculture, food, water systems, environmental technology, and climate innovation. The platform facilitated discussions on best practices for tackling climate change, protecting the environment, promoting biodiversity, and driving sustainable development.
The event featured specialised roundtable discussions focusing on four main themes: ‘Environmental Governance and Compliance,’ ‘Sustainable Agriculture and Food Innovation,’ ‘Nature, Biodiversity, and Data,’ and ‘Community-Based Ecotourism’. Participants shared successful strategies while identifying key enablers that have supported impactful outcomes.
Notable companies such as Silal - UAE's leading Agri-Tech Food company, 4 Earth Intelligence (4EI), Khalifa University, Alpha Dhabi Holding, UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group, Dnata, Camelicious – Emirates Camel Milk Factory, Sxill, Agthia Group, Novel Foods, DP World, Soma Mater, and Tabreed participated actively in these discussions.
Strengthening Climate Resilience
The goal was to foster a shared understanding of scalable initiatives that can strengthen climate resilience across communities in the UAE. The 'Impact Lab' served as a dynamic platform for sharing expertise while aligning public-private sector efforts towards climate action.
The session concluded with developing strategies that promote effective communication among stakeholders. This aligns with achieving a shared vision for a safe community based on sustainability. The event underscored UAE’s leadership role in environmental governance through collaborative efforts.
