National And Reserve Service Career Fair Highlights Youth Career Opportunities In UAE
The 8th National and Reserve Service Career Fair at Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai attracted many national service recruits and graduates. They explored job opportunities with top public and private sector entities across the UAE. Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, attended the fair to learn about initiatives aimed at integrating national service graduates into the workforce.
Interactive workshops and awareness sessions were held to guide participants in their professional development. These sessions covered entrepreneurship, strategies for turning ideas into projects, and success stories from young Emiratis. Practical advice on CV writing, interview skills, and career advancement was also provided to help attendees align their career paths with their qualifications.
Yousif bin Lahej, Vice-President of Emiratisation and Government Partnerships at Emirates Group, highlighted the group's commitment to empowering youth. "Our participation reflects Emirates Group’s commitment to empowering Emirati youth and attracting national talent. We offer diverse opportunities, from the National Cadet Pilot Programme to advanced engineering roles, aligning with the UAE’s Emiratisation goals."
Participants were encouraged to adopt a global outlook and gain international experience. This approach aims to enhance the UAE's talent presence in global sectors. The discussions stressed lifelong learning, upskilling, and using digital platforms like AI-driven content for professional growth.
Dubai Airports showcased its efforts to attract national talent for its firefighting team. Selected candidates will receive specialised training to support operations at one of the world's busiest airports. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of integrating national service graduates into vital sectors.
The Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority participated for the first time, focusing on supporting recruits through specialised employment in auditing and administrative fields. Mahmoud Salem Alalawi stated, "We are committed to qualifying national service graduates and supporting their integration into roles that protect Abu Dhabi’s resources while fostering sustainable professional growth."
The fair plays a crucial role in advancing Emiratisation by connecting recruits with institutions across the UAE. It offers not only employment opportunities but also mentorship and professional development. This helps youth transition into essential sectors and contribute significantly to national progress.
Organised by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions under the Ministry of Defence's patronage, the event is supported by several groups including NMDC Group, EDGE Group, AD Ports Group, Bin Hamoodah Group, University of Khorfakkan, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi – Abu Dhabi, Waterfalls Global, Abu Dhabi Media Network, Young Vision, ManpowerGroup, International Business Magazine LLC, Edarabia, and INDEX Media.
The fair's success is evident as it continues to attract significant interest from both participants and organisations aiming for stronger results this year compared to last year's 1,500 applications received by Emirates Group alone.
