National Academy For Childhood Development Partners With Family Care Authority To Enhance Caregiver Training In Abu Dhabi

The National Academy for Childhood Development (NACD) and the Family Care Authority (FCA) have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement, signed at the Social Care Forum by both organisations' leaders, aims to attract skilled graduates from NACD's programmes. The collaboration seeks to enhance the quality of family care in Abu Dhabi.

Under this MoU, FCA will prioritise hiring 40 graduates each year from NACD's accredited Vocational Diploma in Childhood Development. Additionally, internship opportunities and support will be provided for students across all programmes. The Academy will select candidates based on FCA's requirements and monitor their progress throughout the programme.

The agreement also includes organising workshops on mutual interests. FCA employees will be invited to share their expertise at various Academy events, lectures, and activities. This initiative is designed to foster knowledge exchange and professional development within the sector.

Dr. Meera Saeed Alkaabi, Chief of Academy Team, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with FCA. She stated, "In line with our shared vision to advance the childhood development sector in Abu Dhabi, we are pleased to collaborate with FCA to enhance the skills of caregivers. This partnership prepares them for future roles, but also addresses current gaps in the sector, enhancing synergies and outcomes, and ultimately establishing Abu Dhabi as a leader in family care and quality of life."

Salama Al Ameemi, Director General of FCA, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership. She said, "Our partnership with the National Academy for Childhood Development reflects our ambitious strategic vision to create a paradigm shift in the quality of life for families in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Through this collaboration, we aim to shape a promising future for the childcare system by preparing an exceptional generation of specialized professionals capable of delivering the highest levels of care and support."

The NACD provides an 18-month accredited Vocational Diploma in Childhood Development with full scholarships available for all students. They also offer short courses tailored for full-time caregivers' needs. These educational opportunities aim to equip individuals with essential skills required in family care roles.

This partnership not only bridges education and employment gaps but also establishes a sustainable family care system that meets Abu Dhabi's diverse community needs effectively. By integrating education with practical experience, it aims to develop a skilled workforce ready to address current challenges in childcare services.

Through this collaborative framework between NACD and FCA, Abu Dhabi is poised to become a leader in family care excellence while ensuring high-quality life standards for its residents.
