Al Manjam village, located on the northern bank of Wadi Najran, stands as a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage and mud architecture. This historic site is home to seven impressive mud palaces, each rising four to seven stories high. These structures include various facilities such as a mosque, horse stables, gathering rooms known as majlises, grain storage areas, and an upper balcony.

The village's architectural marvels are enclosed by a substantial mud wall with three main gates that protect its historical significance. Rashid Al Manjam, who oversees the village, mentioned that Al Manjam has been around for over 300 years. In the last two decades, restoration efforts have revitalised it into a lively heritage destination for visitors and history enthusiasts.

The buildings in Al Manjam exhibit distinct architectural creativity. Each structure has a unique name and design that reflects its purpose. For instance, the Al-Mashoulq building features sloping angles and a low roof. In contrast, Al-Murabba and Al-Qasaba are circular structures that narrow towards the top and are typically built in corners for defensive purposes.

The Al-Muqaddam building serves as both a majlis and storage area. It has three stories and includes an inner courtyard. These buildings are constructed using local materials like mud, palm fronds, tamarisk, and sidr wood. This choice of materials highlights a harmonious relationship with the surrounding environment.

Rashid Al Manjam highlighted that ongoing preservation efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030. This initiative aims to revive national heritage while empowering local communities. By transforming heritage villages into vibrant tourist destinations, it seeks to strengthen cultural identity and contribute to the national economy.
